The beds were comfortable, and the rooms felt safe, clean, and well aired. Everything smelled fresh, including the blankets and pillows, and there were no bugs or webs. I’d stay here again if I were passing through. We were road-tripping and had planned to use the neighboring hotel, but stopped here to ask about the rates. This place was cheaper, with lots of parking and no deposit. The woman at reception was very nice, and though checkout was at 11, she let us stay a little longer without charging extra. Since we’d arrived late and hadn’t slept much, that meant a lot. The heater didn’t work, and we could hear our neighbors’ conversations and TV very clearly through the walls. It made sleeping harder, though I still got decent rest.

The night staff were kind and courteous when we checked in late. The king bed was reasonable, the shower was nice, and the ceiling fan was a plus. The AC worked well once it got going, though the room was extremely hot when we first entered. The toilet shifted when I sat on it, the Wi-Fi was awful, and paint was chipping off the doors. At 9 AM, someone went around knocking and asking us to leave our door open or something when we checked out. That didn’t match what the night staff had told us to do.

The mattress and pillows were comfortable, and the room was okay. There was some noise Friday night, possibly a football game at the high school four blocks away. Parking was the bigger problem: when we returned just after 10 PM on our second night, every space was full. We had to park by the entrance next to the office, where another car was already parked.

Avoid room #8. There was no working heat, and after staff told us to wait half an hour, nothing changed. When I asked, they didn’t offer us another room. The hotel had only one extra blanket, which my wife used, so I spent the night shivering under the covers. The blanket smelled like an Indian restaurant. I love Indian food, just not sleeping in that smell. The toilet had black grime around the rim. The shower fan screeched so badly we couldn’t use it, which meant we had no bathroom light. There was no breakfast, despite Google listing one, and the front desk staff didn’t seem to care when I reported the problems the next morning. After the hotel replied on Google saying management would “make it right,” I contacted them, but nothing was resolved. I was just passing through, so a free night at a non-chain hotel was no use to me. They didn’t offer a full or partial refund. It felt like the Google response mattered more than fixing the problem.
