The bowling alley was a hit, and the rooms were clean, well cared for, and comfortable for our family of five. We could still hear the trains and their horns around 4 a.m., even though the tracks are about half a mile away. That was the one downside, but I’d still recommend the place to friends and family.

We had a fun week away from everyday life, with the pool, mini golf, bowling, classes, and other amenities to enjoy. The historic triangle was a quick drive, and Virginia Beach and the aquarium were about an hour away. The room itself was nice, though I’d give it only three stars. The TVs were unreliable, and cleaning had been missed in places: crumbs on the carpet, used washcloths behind a chair in one room, and hair in the bathroom.

The master suite had a king bed, TV, dresser, two nightstands, patio access, and its own bathroom with a whirlpool tub and shower. The smaller patio off the living room had chairs and another entrance to the master bedroom. There was also a guest room with two twin beds, a TV, and two dressers, plus a full-shower bathroom accessible from both that room and the main area. The living room had a TV, fireplace, seating for five, and a sleeper sofa. The kitchen was fully equipped with cookware, utensils, a dishwasher, and washer and dryer. There was a dining table for six and bar seating for three. Nice accommodations.

The arcade and outdoor activity area were fun. Mini golf was $6 per person for 18 holes. There was lots of storage, and the couches and dishes were nice, though I would’ve liked an extra oven tray. The room itself was nice, with usable but not great Wi-Fi. We had a four-person suite with one master bed, two twins in a shared room, and two bathrooms. Both toilets gave us trouble, one flooded and the other wouldn’t empty. Staff fixed both issues and cleaned the floor after the flooding. The soap dispenser in the bathroom off the twin room was mounted too high for most kids to reach.

Being so close to Colonial Williamsburg makes it easy to wander the historic streets, browse the shops, and take in the old-time atmosphere. The condo gives our family of six plenty of space to relax and gather for the holiday. We’ve made the Holiday Inn Vacation Resort in Williamsburg part of our Thanksgiving tradition. It feels welcoming and like a home away from home, and we look forward to coming back year after year to spend time together and make more memories.
