Hampton Inn Williamsport-Downtown

The room itself was a letdown. I paid for a king suite, but got a king room with a pullout sofa. When I opened it for my grandchildren, ages 3 and 5, there was old food on the sheets. The adults' bed was worn down, and I could feel the springs poking my back. The mini fridge wasn't keeping things properly cold either. I take medicine that needs refrigeration, and when I showed the housekeeper, she felt inside and said it was cold enough. I stay at Hampton inn every other week for work, and this was the worst one I've been to. I'd brought the kids hoping they'd swim, but there were too many big kids in the pool without adult supervision, so that didn't happen. They even splashed all the water out of the hot tub. I won't stay there again.

The pool was warm, spacious, and inviting, though the hot tub was very, very small. There were plenty of small towels in the pool area, and a little workout room too. In the lobby, there's a small pantry shop plus free coffee, water, and cocoa. Staff were friendly and gave excellent service, going above and beyond when a few issues came up. The rooms and facilities were clean and well maintained, although the rooms felt a bit dark and small. The bathroom sink and counter had an odd shape but worked fine. Breakfast was the usual Hampton buffet, well stocked and kept clean, with lots of seating.

The pool floor was so slippery that I fell, and the hot tub was disgusting. We won't stay here again, and I'd strongly advise others to find somewhere else. We'd asked for a first floor room and got one, but it had no heat, so we were moved upstairs to a second floor room. That was annoying enough. The next morning the shower was barely lukewarm before turning cold.

The location worked perfectly for us. My family, relatives, and a lot of other people stayed one night while taking a chartered bus from the little league world series, then heading to NYC the next day. We had a two bed room, the service was wonderful, and breakfast was free.
