Tru by Hilton Wilmington

We had an issue with the AC at first, but the staff were sweet and accommodating about moving us while they fixed it. They were friendly, easy to talk to, and personable. Breakfast was good, the pool area is beautiful, and I liked the boards by the elevator with local places to see and eat.

We expected to stay three nights at TRU Hotel Market Street, Wilmington NC, from 1-30-26 to 2-3-26, but snow kept us there for two extra days. Rachel Earley, Dual Asst GM at the front desk, was incredibly patient, kind, helpful, and accommodating to my wife and me. She went above and beyond, and the whole team made a great stay feel extraordinary. We stay at TRU Hotels wherever we travel because we know what to expect. Five stars.

We had a king room and the bathroom was spacious, with a walk-in shower and shampoo and other toiletries that smelled terrific. There wasn't a coffee maker in the room, but coffee was available in the lobby 24 hours a day. The room itself was smaller than most I've stayed in, which seems to be their thing. The pool looked great, but it was too chilly for me to try. We liked the casual seating in the lobby, and the pool table was always occupied while a youth soccer team was staying there. We skipped breakfast but bought a few things from the hotel store. They were pricey, but that's what the store is there for. I wasn't sure about the hotel when my husband booked it, but it's a Hilton, so I expected it to be good. We'll definitely stay there next time we're in Wilmington.

The staff were delightful, and I liked the modern look, gathering spaces, and free coffee around the clock. But the rooms are tiny, with nowhere to put clothes, no in-room coffee maker, and very little water pressure. We stayed six nights for work. I'd come back for a shorter stay, but not that long without space for our things.
