Holiday Inn Windsor Wine Country by IHG

The bed was awful and left me itching all night. I woke up with visible bite marks on my legs. The room was dirty and dusty, the furniture was falling apart, and the tub had rust you could see from across the room. Old smoke smell hit me as soon as I got in, and even the doors were dirty. The carpets were grim and the lighting was bad. The whole place looks old and forgotten. Please don’t stay here, not even for one night. It’s truly that horrible.

The room was unusually dark, the coffee machine didn’t work, and the bed squeaked. The floors smelled like smoke even though it was meant to be a smoke-free place. The fire alarm also went off twice during our stay, both times as a false alarm. My husband booked us for one night with breakfast included, but when we showed up, staff said there was no breakfast included. They were unkind and a little condescending about it. Other small issues made the stay less comfortable too.

For three days in Windsor, this was a handy and good value place to stay, close to attractions and activities. I’ve stayed at the Holiday Inn Windsor a couple of times and would recommend it to anyone wanting a comfortable, economical option in the area. The large car park is convenient and reasonably priced. Drinks at the bar also cost a reasonable amount. The restaurant is basic, but the food is affordable and breakfast is good value. Booking a premium room is worth considering for a bit more comfort.

Our room was quiet from the highway noise, but we were overcharged. My family stayed 9/18-20/2025. Before arrival, we changed rooms because one family member was ill and asked to downgrade. We were told the rate would be adjusted, but after checkout we found we’d paid for a King Suite while staying in a 2 Queen bed-standard room. Nobody told us we’d still be charged the higher rate, and the manager won’t adjust it.
