We had to leave both rooms and find somewhere else to stay during my reservation, Dec. 4-6, 2025. I’m in the U.S. Army, and my family and friends had come to El Paso for what should have been a happy ceremony. Instead, they were treated poorly, and I was standing there in uniform while the manager dismissed me. One room was so bad that my guests couldn’t stay in it, so we all relocated rather than split up. The other room didn’t have roaches, but it still had wet residue on the floor. When I asked what it was, the exterminator behind the counter said it was poison. Even if it was “non-toxic,” that’s not acceptable in a guest room. Both rooms I was given were dirty, badly maintained, and infested with roaches in the first room. Elizabeth Gonzalez refused to refund my reservation after I showed her clear evidence of the unsanitary conditions. Her dismissive response and poor judgment were completely unprofessional. I’m asking for a full refund for both rooms, a corporate review of cleanliness and pest-control practices, and accountability for the managers responsible for this failure and their response. No guest should have to deal with these conditions at a hotel brand that claims to care about cleanliness and comfort. If this isn’t addressed promptly, I’ll contact El Paso Public Health for a lodging inspection and the Texas consumer protection office about the health and safety concerns. I expect Extended Stay Suites corporate to take this seriously. I recommend guests book somewhere else.

My husband eventually came back and moved us out. I left with a severe toe infection after having to shower in sewage water, and I couldn’t walk or get out of bed. I filed a health violation complaint. I hope the owner, Heidi, takes responsibility and improves her character. They showed no empathy and refused to move us because of plumbing problems that were the hotel’s fault, even though many other reviews describe the same problems. We were blamed and punished for it. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, especially families with kids. I’ve lived in public housing that was better. The only good thing is the low price, and even that isn’t worth it. We stayed a little over two months with my four kids. The room was overrun with roaches, including huge ones in the hallway. I cleaned constantly, but they kept coming back and crawling on the beds while my kids slept. The whole hotel smelled like sewer, the jacuzzi room smelled like boiling hot dog water, and the pool was old and dirty. The bathroom problems started in our first week. The toilet stopped flushing and the shower wouldn’t drain, so every shower flooded the bathroom. I reported it, and maintenance said the room should have been out of order because the shower and tub always flooded. He gave me a key to another room, but while I was moving the kids and our things, the front desk guy came for payment just before 11 a.m. and took the new key back. He blamed us for flushing wipes. I was the only one using wipes and I didn’t flush them, though I wondered if the kids had done it by accident. Days later, when maintenance finally cleared the clog, he pulled out an old car wash towel. The housekeeper had seen wipes and told the office we’d flushed them, and we were made to stay in a room with a broken bathroom because of that lie. Not long after, dirty black sewage water backed up into the tub and stank. The kids needed showers, so I went to the desk around 7 p.m. They said it was too late to fix it. They also refused to move us because the manager said we’d put food down the tub drain. We hadn’t. The pipes brought up roaches, hair, and pieces of feces. Housekeeping said food came up too, and staff kept blaming us even though it was clearly a plumbing problem. We couldn’t shower or use the restroom for days. After about two months, the shower flooded so badly that water leaked into the hallway and soaked the carpet. Staff finally let us use a different room to shower, but acted annoyed each time we asked for the key. They told us not to tell the manager because she’d get them in trouble for helping. When I went to the desk with urgent problems, staff rolled their eyes, scoffed, or acted bothered. Their manner kept shifting between nice, rude, and cold. The maintenance man was the only one who tried, but nothing was properly fixed and eventually he gave up. Staff said their paychecks had bounced and they weren’t getting paid, so they were often absent and inattentive, but we still couldn’t change rooms. A man next door banged loudly on the wall and yelled at us to shut up over ordinary little noises. I reported him, but they just called him and it got worse. Housekeeping came into my room without permission if I didn’t open the door fast enough. Sometimes they cleaned, sometimes they skipped us, leaving us without clean sheets for up to two weeks. They stopped giving us blankets, so I used my own.

Staff were so friendly, and they did a great job cleaning my room between my two nights here. It’s a wonderful option if you’re on a budget! JESUS LOVES YOU! 🗡️🕊️🔥

I’ll stay here again. The price is reasonable on a lot of booking sites, and the rooms are nice and clean. It’s an older hotel without much curb appeal, and the lobby isn’t much to look at, but it’s in a good, safe spot. You’re near the 10 Fwy without hearing road or freeway noise, and there are good restaurants and stores nearby. UTEP, a major hospital, downtown, and Sunland Park race track are all close too.

There was a roach inside the refrigerator, and the place was really dirty. At check-in, the front desk clerk kept trying to charge me a deposit even though the site where I booked didn’t mention one. She argued and tried to blame the reservation website. I pointed out that the motel supplies the information on that site and its manager should keep it accurate and current. I said I wasn’t paying surprise fees or deposits, and she eventually agreed. This place is disgusting, the staff are unprofessional, and they may spring unexpected charges on you when you arrive.
