Richard really makes the stay. He’s a terrific host and storyteller, and you can tell he cares about making guests feel special. The mansion is around 150 years old, full of history and character, with wooden details, thoughtful decor, and well-kept rooms set up in different styles. Breakfast was a highlight: a four-course meal, with a vegetarian option if you ask. There are a couple of good dinner spots nearby, including Nosh and signature. I’d recommend it for a weekend away, a festival visit, a romantic getaway, or a special occasion.

Richard is what made our stay so memorable. He’s kind, genuine, interesting, and a lovely host, and the breakfast was a wow. We’ll definitely come back, though I have a feeling other B&Bs may have a hard time measuring up. The mansion itself is breathtaking, too.

Richard took such good care of me, and I loved hearing about his passion for the house and its history. He’s a lovely, attentive host. The room was beautiful, and the whole Alexander Mansion is full of carefully chosen decor and little charming details tucked into every corner. An absolute gem, and I can’t recommend staying here enough.

Richard was a great host, and breakfast was wonderful. It’s a beautiful place with lots of thoughtful touches, from the robes in the room to a drink and chocolate at the end of the night. A special place to stay.
