Gables Motel

The location is the big draw: it's literally one block from downtown, and I'd stay here for that alone. Management was top notch and went out of their way to handle a request, saving me a lot of hassle. My room felt like a throwback, but it was clean and had what I needed. The shower was hot, and the pool was warm and clean. Complimentary bottled water in the office was a nice perk when it costs $2.50+ downtown.

Management was kind and worked around our schedule and luggage needs, which made this a great fit for our train trip. Gables is an easy walk from the station and attractions. The room was comfortable and clean, too. I'm glad people are putting care into keeping these cute old motels in such good shape.

Hamish was great, really nice, and walked us to our rooms. We stayed for quite a while, and the comfy beds and good TV made it worth our time. The heated pool was a highlight. You can walk straight back to the rooms after swimming, and there are bouncy balls and pool noodles for kids to play with. Great experience, and I look forward to coming back. 5 stars ⭐️

We usually come to the Dells for our annual vacation and have been doing that since my son was a wee lad. This time we wanted to stay downtown, away from the main drag, especially since mini golf spots are getting few and far between. The location is prime, with Timber Falls and Pirates Cove right across the bridge. Hamish checked us in and was very courteous. He fixed a small problem with one of our lamps right away. The rooms were clean, the price was affordable, and the whole stay was amazing. We skipped the pool, but it looked very well kept and other guests seemed to be enjoying it. In my opinion, this is by far the best maintained motel in the Dells. I'd definitely recommend it. Thanks, Hamish, you have a great thing going!
