Yakima Valley Inn

We drove 10 hours for the Washington State High School Basketball Tournament, and finding the hotel was hard because there was no sign that was easy to see. We’d booked and paid in full 45 days ahead for four nights in a room with two queen beds, but were told none were left and that we’d have to go elsewhere. We ended up taking a one-bed room. It looked nothing like the nice, clean, well-kept rooms shown on the website. The room had no carpet, coffee pot, hairdryer, shampoo, hand towels, bath mat, ice bucket, or breakfast. There was one washcloth, two plastic cups, and two working lights. The walls needed painting, the drapes were falling off their rods, and the staff were rude. There was no sign visible after dark. They never cleaned the room or made the beds during our four days, and we had to use the same towels the whole time. This place was extremely disappointing and, in my opinion, should be closed. I’m sorry it even gets one star. Stay away!

I’d stay here again. The room was great, really clean and odor-free, with a good bed, and the pool looked sparkling. I slept well until shots were fired in the parking lot at 11:45 PM. Still, I liked the place.

The carpet had nails sticking out of it, and the room door had no physical lock. The place was run down, with gross stuff seeping down the walls, and there was no lock on the bathroom door either. I’d traveled all day the day before, and taking a shower here somehow made me feel less clean. This room was so disgusting that it should have cost a third of the price. It might have been fine if I were homeless or a drug addict, but it wasn’t okay for me.

The staff switched us right away when we initially couldn’t get into our room, and the WiFi was super fast. We have a dog, so being able to stay with pets was a plus. The room had hair on the floor and pillows, though, and the hotel is run down and needs a makeover. We’d read lots of the one-star Google reviews when we arrived and did see signs of some of the things people described, but our stay itself wasn’t affected. We stayed one night. Two stars.
