El Rancho Motel

It was quiet, and there weren’t people walking around all night. The price was good, the room was very clean, and the bed was okay, not the worst I’ve slept in. There wasn’t any soap or other extras, but I bring my own. The woman at the front desk was very nice, which is a plus these days. I’d stay here again if I’m in the area.

We booked a single night, but ended up extending because we were so happy with the stay. The front desk folks were quick and kind, and we were in our room within minutes. Parking is open and plentiful, and you’re right off Fourth ave, with tons of shops within a few miles, most of them under a mile away. The room had shampoo, conditioner, a blow dryer, a fridge, and a microwave, which surprised me. The TV and cable worked well, though I don’t watch much television. Everything was very clean, including the floors and linens, and despite what some reviews said, we didn’t see a single bug, even after looking carefully. For this price range, I think it’s probably the best lodging around. You don’t have to put down some outrageous $200 deposit on a $60 room. We’ll be back for sure.

It’s a two-star motel, fine for a night or two. Just don’t expect towel service.

The room stayed nice and quiet, and the AC was excellent. It was running when I came in from the heat outside, and I had to turn it warmer overnight because it got too cold. There was a king bed, a large color TV, a decent counter and sink, and a mini fridge with a small freezer compartment. The grocery store is across the street. A 10-pound bag of ice costs $2. The plastic key card opened the door easily while still in my wallet. I would’ve liked free ice, but that may be the tradeoff for getting the best room price in the area.
