We visited Río Ancho at the last minute as a day trip from Buenos Aires and could not have been more pleased! Marcelo and his staff were welcoming, accommodating and incredibly warm. The food/wine was amazing, the scenery beautiful, and we felt at home immediately. Highly recommend and would happily return and stay overnight!

We ate at Rio Ancho restaurant while on vacation in Uruguay. It was well worth the short ride from our hotel in Colonia. The property is beautiful and serene. We were greeted by Chef Federico when we first arrived. He then gave us a quick tour of the property. The dining area was quiet and intimate with gorgeous sunset views. For our meal, the chef prepared us a surprise tasting menu, and we paired it with a local bottle of Tannat. The food was absolutely delicious with beautiful plating presentations.
