Luna Brava

Breakfast could have had some fruit, but otherwise we really enjoyed our two nights here. The place was clean, the room spacious, and the staff kind and helpful. They even ironed my boyfriend's shirt. There are three little dogs who bark a bit when you come and go, though they're quite friendly once you get to know them.

You can fall asleep in your room to the sound of the sea, right by José Ignacio beach. The location is unbeatable. Catalina says the owners are attentive and flexible about use of the common areas, and the other guests are very friendly too.

The location is the only good thing here. Service was terrible, the lights didn't work, and the refrigerator had mold. Breakfast was very meager, just bread and cereal. The mosquito nets were hard to close, and there's no hot water, or not enough to last even one person. The parking lot only fits three cars, and two spaces always belong to the owner. Nobody takes responsibility for any of the problems. For the price, this feels like a rip-off.

The rooftop food was delicious, and the pool was perfect for spending the afternoon. The inn itself is lovely, with spacious rooms and easy access. It's in a unique spot, half a block from the beach and right next to the best restaurant in Uruguay. Service was very personal, and the staff were incredibly friendly. I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great stay in José Ignacio.
