We’d booked this months ahead to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary, but had to cancel after my wife lost her mother. I asked if they’d waive the cancellation fee and got a very quick refusal. Given how little compassion they showed, I’d suggest choosing one of the many other places in the area.

The rooms were really cute, and the staff were so helpful. We also loved the pool. The location was great, just 3 blocks from the beach.

Our check-in date was changed through booking.com without anyone consulting us, and we only found out 30 min before check-in. The hotel had no rooms for the date we’d actually booked. At reception, the woman was rude and unhelpful, with no offer to find an alternative. She said booking.com had made the date change and that she was trying to reach customer service. I got through to customer service within 5 min, and they hadn’t heard from her. They also couldn’t reach the hotel to confirm the cancellation. Booking.com is now handling the complaint, and the hotel has to pay the difference in price for the place where we eventually stayed. Fortunately, booking.com pressured the hotel to compensate us. Mistakes happen, and we tried to find a solution, but the staff were incredibly rude and offered no support. They hid in the room behind reception, didn’t give us water or connect us to Wifi, and the woman repeatedly refused when I asked to speak with a manager.

We came without a car, but they let us borrow bikes and arranged taxis. The beach is a very short walk away and picture perfect, and we even walked along it to Laguna Rocha one day. After a hectic trip, this was just the relaxing stay we needed. The property is beautiful and well cared for. We used all the amenities, and everything was very clean: the heated outdoor pool, indoor heated pool with jets, two person jacuzzi tub, sauna, and the poolside hammocks and chairs. Stock up on coffee and snacks at the town store, though there are plenty of restaurants that deliver and the front desk has a list. We hope to stay again!
