The rooftop bar and shared space give Hotel Montevideo a cool, urban feel, and the sleek modern design will appeal to people who care about looks. It works well if you want a stylish place with a lively, cosmopolitan vibe. The rooms were clean and functional, but standard in layout and comfort, without much charm or detail. Service was professional, though it didn’t feel especially personal or memorable. If you’re after strong character, warm hospitality, and a sense of local warmth, it may come across more as a polished stopover than a destination.

It’s easy to walk around at any time of day because the hotel is in a safe area. The rooms were very comfortable and had everything we needed. Breakfast was excellent, with some really good options, and the service was wonderful, whether at breakfast, reception, or the rooftop bar.

We stayed in one of the residences, which was perfect with a baby. The hotel was gorgeous and comfortable, and breakfast was very good. The staff were so helpful, sweet, and professional. One of the best hotel experiences we’ve had!

The 8th floor had great rooms and views, and the English speaking staff were absolutely nice and helpful. They even offered to repair my broken suitcase in their ateliers. I got it back the next morning in perfect working condition. Great hotel and amazing service, probably the highlight of my time in Montevideo and all of Uruguay. I’d highly recommend it.

We loved the place enough to return for our last night after spending a week in Buenos Aires and Jose Ignacio. My husband and I had spent about a week in a suite first, then came back to a different room type. Both rooms were beautiful and quiet, within reasonable expectations for a city hotel. The bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable, and we loved having balconies with such a lovely breeze. I can’t wait to stay there again.
