Grand Hotel Uzbekistan

Sharif Rashidov park is lovely to walk around, and the Grand Hotel Uzbekistan stands out on the Jizzakh skyline in a nice central park setting. Inside, though, the low ceilings, dim lighting, cramped feel, and excessive heat are hard to overlook. The rooms are fairly large but have those same problems, plus rock-hard beds. The building looks like it hasn't been renovated since it was built in the 1970s or 1980s. Service was acceptable, though not ideal, and the continental breakfast was just a few items with plates that looked only half clean. I'd stay somewhere else in Jizzakh.

The price is lower than at other hotels with similar facilities and service, and there are table tennis, billiards, and a swimming pool. To me, everything seems perfect apart from the administration's attitude. They need to learn how to speak to clients.

I ended up cancelling my booking at the other hotel and staying here because of how kind Narjes was. I arrived here by mistake while looking for a different hotel, and Narjes at reception explained the city and answered all our questions so nicely. The price is unbeatable for the services, the hotel sits by a pleasant little park, and the city is opposite, with different transport options available all around.

I'd rate it below zero if I could. I was trying to get a basic answer from the hotel administration because a very prestigious guest wanted to stay. Instead, I was transferred to another staff member who was very rude. I don't understand why people keep coming here.
