We were a group of 33 staying for two nights. One of our guests spilled tea on a pillow and carpet, and the hotel insisted on charging for it. As group leader, I felt embarrassed asking my customer to cover it, so I paid 395,000 som myself. It wasn’t a huge amount, but it was frustrating, and I think the hotel should have been more tolerant. Charging us felt wrong and inappropriate. We won’t choose this hotel for future group tours.

We had a horrible stay. The elevator broke and some people were stuck inside for a while. The water from the taps was cold even though it was 38C outside, so after sightseeing we couldn’t take a proper shower. Staff told us warm water would be available in 10 minutes, but it was still cold the next day. Breakfast was poor, with little choice and food that wasn’t tasty. The manager couldn’t speak English, and we never got any compensation. I strongly recommend staying away.

Breakfast had plenty of good-quality options, and you can order wine to your room or out in the garden. The staff were friendly, the bed was fairly comfortable, and the lobby and breakfast room looked great. There’s a pool and garden, though the pool water was cold. The walls are thin, so bring earplugs. Our shower was cold on two mornings, but worked better in the afternoon and evening. It’s about a 20-minute walk to Registan Square, with some good shawarma and Indian restaurants nearby.

The rooms were clean and had an artistic feel, and the hotel is decorated in the same style. Our driver spoke Russian while we only knew English, so the receptionist stepped in to translate and was very helpful.
