Hilton Samarkand Regency Hotel

The team were kind, and I did feel my Hilton Diamond status was recognized with a nice upgrade. The manager was welcoming and professional. I also liked the well-equipped gym, lovely spa, efficient elevators with little waiting, and a good breakfast served by notably friendly staff. The building itself is impressive, though the service repeatedly stumbled on basic details. In the room, several outlets didn't work, so the hotel eventually gave me an extension cord. The temperature control remained inconsistent despite staff trying to fix it. My keys failed several times, and the elevator sensors seemed poorly adjusted. Housekeeping was a particular frustration: even after I asked them not to, they kept moving my toiletries and desk items. I'd rather they concentrate on floors, showers, carpets, and fresh towels. There seemed to be many staff who were new to hospitality. I visited during Ramadan, which appeared to slow service generally, including at the hotel, with taxis, and at the airport. Attentiveness felt especially low. On departure day, reception had arranged my airport transfer, but staff loaded my bags into the wrong car. I had to be moved and loaded again. Checkout was slow and confused despite there being nobody else in line, and even a simple bill correction seemed beyond the staff's training. The top-floor restaurant has a good setting and service, but I found the food below average. It's a beautiful hotel with a sweet-natured team, yet small practical things went wrong again and again, even after I raised them. I'd return, hoping to see more training and care with the details.

The staff were hospitable and ready to help, and the food and surroundings were good. I'd recommend the hotel for a longer holiday or a meeting stay. I hope I get to visit this beautiful place one day. Many thanks to the staff and management. Cheers, Fakafetai lasi

The executive lounge was another great surprise, and as a Diamond member I could use it. The Skybar is a must too. We ended up eating at the hotel after not having the best food experiences around Samarkand, and I usually don't dine at hotels, but the meal was wonderful. Everything in the rooms, breakfast, and amenities looked perfect, almost as if it had just been used for the first time. I was surprised to learn the hotel was already a few years old, since I thought it was only a week old. It is farther from the center, but absolutely worth the trip. The reception welcome was great, and a manager, I think from guest services, was professional and amazing, though sadly I forgot his name. This hotel really sets an example for a Hilton. What could be improved? Nothing!

The sauna wasn't heated properly, and the service overall was extremely poor. We felt unwelcome and were treated badly by the staff. For a hotel at this level, I expected much more. Our stay at Hilton was entirely negative, with service quality at zero. ---
