Al Said Hotel

10/10. Great location, and an excellent hotel. Just a short walk from the metro station.

We slept really well here. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and stylish, with very comfortable beds. The pool was clean and pleasant too, a nice spot to unwind. Breakfast was fantastic, fresh and delicious. Everything is close by, so the location is super convenient. We’ll definitely return.

The best part was the location. Everything was close, about a 10-minute taxi ride away. Rustaveli Avenue nearby is nice for a walk after its renovations. There’s a 24-hour minimarket, a hardware store, two ATMs near the hotel, and plenty of activity with all the hotels in the area. Mar-Mar café had tasty food at average prices. A 5-10-minute walk along Rustaveli Avenue takes you to a good B&B café for breakfast and The Locmako, a Turkish café with amazing desserts and delicious ice cream. You can pay by Visa or MasterCard. The room had a small fridge with a freezer compartment, a table, a wardrobe, and air conditioning. We asked for a chair and they brought one straight away. We stayed three nights, two adults and one child. There were a lot of problems. At check-in, my Visa payment failed three times, even though the bank confirmed everything was fine. The fourth attempt went through right away. They had offered a transfer before that, but the card wouldn’t accept it. The room also didn’t match the Booking photos, which showed rooms in the new building. We got a six-bed room in the old building instead. The shower was a constant issue: in the morning, hot water took 3-4 minutes to arrive, and then the pressure would stop. We reported it and were told a plumber would come, but nothing changed. Wi-Fi was mediocre and kept dropping out, disappearing completely one night. Soundproofing was poor too, we could hear a child crying in the next room very clearly. The windows looked onto the neighboring balcony and the new building, so everything was visible. Nobody cleaned the room during our stay, and we took the trash out ourselves. Breakfast was in the basement of the neighboring SV hotel from 07.30-09.30. It was meager, and we only went once in the three days.

For a single night, it was comfortable enough, with comfortable mattresses and pillows and a kettle in the room. There are no lamps, just the overhead light. Breakfast is served at a nearby cafe, and it may not open on time. Still, I had no major complaints for an overnight stay.
