The Frederiksted Hotel

The courtyard and rooftop patio both look especially cute at night with all the white lights, and the place has a great atmosphere. It's an older hotel with a somewhat quirky layout, but it's kept very clean. Everyone working there was super nice. Manager Roxy was helpful and lovely, and her dog is adorable. The hotel is across from the water, near some beautiful beaches, and they provide beach towels. There are good places to eat within walking distance, and the sunsets are beautiful.

Roxy and the staff really care about making guests comfortable. The room was clean, comfortable, and just right, with cozy beds, good water pressure, and plenty of hot water. Liz was kind and helpful, Veronica had good suggestions for shops, food, and beaches, and the front desk was there whenever we needed assistance. A water refill station helped us stay hydrated, and the balcony was a nice place to read after the beach. The hotel recommended our driver, Kaya, who was fantastic: airport pickup was on time and smooth, and he even waited to make sure we got inside safely. After-hours arrivals get a private door code. Shops, the museum, the fort, and several beautiful clean beaches are walkable. There's breakfast on site, plus a little free library and reasonably priced snacks and drinks in the office. Prices are very affordable for what you get, and I'd stay again.

When our flight was cancelled, this hotel came to the rescue. We had an ocean-view terrace that was lovely for morning coffee and evening drinks, and the location on the beach was great. Breakfast was good too. It's an old building, and while the furnishings are nice, some areas are worn, especially the bathrooms. We found it charming and felt it was good value.

The staff were friendly and helpful, but nearly everything else about our stay was miserable. At first the room looked clean, but there was hair on the sheets. The flimsy beds and sagging mattress made my daughter and me slide toward the middle all night. The AC couldn't cool the room, and the thick, cheap microfiber-like sheets trapped heat, so sleeping was difficult. Outside lights kept the room bright because there were no blackout curtains. I also felt unsafe because the sliding doors were broken and held shut with zip ties, so the room couldn't be properly secured. I rarely post negative reviews, but I want others to know what to expect. I wish earlier reviews had been more honest.
