Highway 20 Homestay

The family were the real highlight: kind, warm and so welcoming. They cooked wonderful local food, and the Vietnamese menu is the one to check out rather than the English one. We especially enjoyed the carp from the local river, just remember to order ahead so they can buy it fresh. They also helped us arrange bus tickets and tours, all cheaper than booking online, which made things simple and stress-free. We made a friend here and met lots of lovely people. My partner adored “Dakar” (forgive me if I’ve spelled her name wrong), the family dog, who was incredibly sweet and friendly, even for someone like me who’s usually scared of dogs. Our spacious room felt calm and comfortable, with a beautiful bathroom and a mosquito net, which I loved. The bed was firm but not too firm. The air conditioning didn’t quite work for us, but there was a fan and we didn’t mind too much. It was such a special stay, and we’re grateful for all the warmth and care. Xin chân thành cảm ơn 🤍

The location is great, and the host made us feel welcome and was ready to help with anything we needed. I arrived by bicycle, and they offered without being asked to keep it safe inside their lovely, cozy garden. The food was good, and the host is adventurous: alongside running a wonderful homestay with his family, he can guide you on jungle treks or cave explorations. They invited me to dinner with the family, which I’d definitely recommend.

The wooden house is surrounded by greenery and stays cool inside, even when it’s hot outdoors. The rooms look just like the pictures. The host family were super helpful, the food was great, and they even included a motorbike. Loved this place.

The hosts were welcoming, and we really enjoyed chatting with them. The cabins are naturalistic and comfortable, and the restaurant served delicious food in generous portions at a fair price, with vegetarian options too. You can rent motorbikes here, and arrange a taxi from or to Dong Hoi, or rides to other places in Vietnam. It was a pleasure staying here!
