The first room had ants and mosquitoes everywhere. I changed rooms, but the second was full of lizards, with droppings all over the floor. When I decided to check out after one night, the receptionist got really angry and wanted to charge me for two nights. Even after I paid her an extra 150,000 vnd, she still wasn’t happy. A really bad experience. Book at your own risk.

Chau Doc is an interesting place on the Bassac River, and this was a good place to stay for a few days. The hotel was clean and in the city center. The guy at reception was helpful and spoke English. They can organize trips too. A good address.

Hai Chau was a good, clean and quiet place to stay while visiting Chau Doc in VIETNAM. It felt safe and family friendly, and was clean without looking extreme. It’s near the market, water tours, and different kinds of transportation. Ask the small " one person " receptionist about the many different and fun tours from South to North VIETNAM.

The room was very dirty, the windows were locked and couldn’t be opened, and the ceiling fan was noisy. The view from the top floor terrace was nice.
