Fedora Hostel

The rooftop was a lovely spot to relax and catch sunrise or sunset, and the staff were friendly, helpful, and spoke excellent English. They can arrange tours and rent you a scooter or motorbike. My mixed dorm had six beds, each with a privacy curtain, a charging socket, and a light. There were plenty of hangers at reception, though a shelf for belongings would have helped. The hostel is in a quiet alley near two good cafes, about a ten-minute walk from the beach and close to the airport. That also means you can hear planes, and the more touristy area is farther away.

The staff were really friendly, and everything felt super clean and brand new. I booked for convenience, since it wasn't really a place to meet people. It was very quiet, and I think I was the only guest, so I had the whole room to myself. It's under the flight path, though I can't remember when the planes stop. It wasn't a big deal. The owner had also mentioned that the shower and toilet are in the same area, which I'm used to and didn't mind. #BeatTheGrind

The dorm was dirty, and someone could walk straight in from the street through the front door. There were lots of insects on the walls, mold in the bathroom, and stains on the beds. I've never slept so badly in Vietnam.

The room smelled so bad that I couldn't sleep well. It may have been caused by other guests, but the managers didn't check the room's condition. Not a good memory.
