Hello Dalat Hostel

The price was so low that I could hardly believe breakfast was included, even though it was very basic. Our private room was spotless and comfortable, with an amazing bed and one of the best showers we’ve had at a hostel. The value for money is incredible. I don’t get how everyone doesn’t give this place five stars!

Breakfast was eggs and toast, a banana, and tea, but the kitchen was in a horrendous state. There was also a lavatory right next to it, something that would be illegal in most countries. From my third-floor window I could see bottles that were hotel refuse. They sell bottled plastic water instead of having a dispenser, and that’s the result. There was also an undisclosed 3% surcharge for paying by credit card. I wouldn’t stay again. Three stars feels fair: I slept OK and the TV was good. Couples can definitely get a much better room for the same price elsewhere, although this place has other options and I believe a larger format. My booked room cost VND305000 on Booking, which I later realized was too much for a room like this. I’m now in another hotel for the same price with a much bigger room and a regular bathroom with a shower unit. When I asked for the walk-in price, he said VND320000, plus the surcharge mentioned above. That insulted my intelligence and made me question his. The room itself was clean and quiet, and had a window. It was small, fine for one person, but two would struggle. The bed was flush against one wall, with about a metre of space on the other side. The shower wasn’t enclosed, it was in the same room as the lavatory. The water was hot, but there was no soap or shower gel.

Really good service at this hotel. There was always someone available to help with anything. Thank you!

The staff were especially friendly and helpful, and breakfast was always nice. The room was a bit small but clean, and had everything we needed. The price was good; the location was decent, near the market and not too far from the lake.
