Oak Village by D Home Da Lat

The only thing I liked was the lovely forest view. Everything else made this stay upsetting. We were woken during the night by people coming back from town, laughing and talking loudly, and in the morning there was heavy foot traffic outside our window. The room also had poor sound insulation, and the shower never got hot, though the sink did. The bigger problem was the dogs roaming the grounds. We arrived early on February 3 after taking a bus from Ho Chi Minh, so we couldn't check in and waited in the courtyard. One dog with puppies was acting aggressively. I tried to show her I wasn't a threat, but when I went to charge my nearly dead phone at an outlet, she attacked and bit my leg twice. Thick trousers kept her from breaking the skin, but I was left with bad bruises. We told reception straight away and were told she was guarding her territory. We didn't make a fuss, but our mood was ruined. That evening my husband needed to get his insulin from the fridge. The dogs, including the same one, growled and blocked his way. Reception wasn't there, so I messaged the hotel's WhatsApp number. They told us there was nothing to fear, which felt like mockery after what had happened. I explained about the morning and sent a video of my husband being unable to get through. No one helped or apologized. We're shocked by how guests were treated. A hotel should deal with aggressive animals on its shared grounds and teach them to behave. What if a child were attacked? The staff's indifference was the worst part. I strongly advise against staying here if you don't want to deal with barking and biting dogs.
