Golden Lotus Hotel Da Nang

The room was spacious and nice, and breakfast had a huge range of Vietnamese and Western choices. I came with my brother and his wife, and we found the location handy for getting to the beach. Trang at the front desk was lovely and helpful, and the customer service was great. I’d recommend staying here in Danang.

I’ve only been here a day, and I already wish I’d taken the warning reviews seriously. I booked a two-bedroom executive suite, but it’s basically two tiny rooms joined by a door, with nowhere to sit. The supposed ocean view is just a thin strip seen past the back of a sign, and the pool is mostly under an overhang. The booking site promoted a largely free airport shuttle, but when I tried to arrange it, I was told my room type didn’t qualify, even though I’d booked a two-bedroom suite. I’m very disappointed. I can’t figure out the hotel’s star rating except that it’s been open a long time.

We booked a Standard Twin, which was clean and spacious for two, and room service was quick. The hotel worked well for pickups for our tours around Da Nang, including Ba Na Hills and Hoi An. It’s also an easy stroll to the beach, where you can go in the morning or evening for sunrise or sunset. Breakfast was fresh, with familiar options as well as traditional local dishes to try. We stayed two nights and three days, and the staff were great. It was a good stay.

The sky bar was a highlight, with an outdoor pool looking out over the beach. Drinks were affordable, and the long happy hour runs from 8 AM to 9:30 PM, including deals like buy two mango smoothies and get one free. They have alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, plus tea and coffee. Staff were friendly, helpful, and spoke English and Korean comfortably. Our room was clean and comfortable, Wi-Fi worked without any trouble, and the on-site mart is open 24/7 with essentials. Great value, and I’d come back to Golden Lotus Hotel.
