Hai Trieu Hotel

The room was small, the AC didn’t work, and the TV was crappy. The pictures are definitely deceiving, and the price isn’t cheap for the area. I don’t know how they’re rated so well on Agoda. The young guy at front reception seemed nice but had his hands tied. Like in most cases, it’s bad management. Don’t come here, trust me.

The rooms smelled of mold, and the walls were paper thin. I could hear people on the phone or watching TV from the hallways and other rooms. The shower clogged, and the toilet barely flushed. I booked through Booking.com under the name Premium Funix Houses, which doesn’t actually exist if you Google it. The hotel messaged me on WhatsApp, and that’s when I found out they’d signed up on Booking.com under a different name. The property is in such poor condition that I think they used a fake name, otherwise no one would book it. At check-in, Booking.com notified me that the group was marked as a no-show and charged me immediately, so the hotel could keep its Booking.com commission. That penalized my account by making it look like I hadn’t stayed, even though I did. After the stay, I asked the property for a receipt. They ignored my messages on Booking.com and WhatsApp. I tried for 4 days, even translating my request into Vietnamese, and they still wouldn’t answer. I should have noticed the warning signs when they canceled my booking.com reservation at check-in, but I didn’t realize until after we’d paid. I never usually leave bad reviews, but I didn’t appreciate how devious this felt, especially with them refusing to send the hotel bill receipt. I’ve never had a hotel ignore my messages like this. They always answered while I was a guest, but now they won’t help, despite jeopardizing my Booking.com account for their own financial gain. Beware of this hotel, its dishonest staff, and the fake “Premium Funix Houses”.

The hotel was run down, with cracks and watermarks on the walls, and the room was dusty and dirty. We chose it because of the pool, but it was closed during our stay, which was frustrating. There are great views from the top, though. It’s in a good location, not far from the beach.

There was no hand soap in the bathroom, and we had to ask for toilet paper every day. The walls are thin, so on some nights other guests talking loudly late kept us from sleeping. We told reception and things got better straight away, the service was excellent. I also noticed rooms are almost half the price when booked online through Booking.com instead of directly at the property.
