Hoi An Golden Rice Villa

We’ve stayed here twice, including twelve nights on this trip, and love the place. For this price range, it might be the best value in Hoi An. Our rating is based on what you pay, especially for the facilities, which may not be five-star in general but feel five-star at this price. The grounds are lovely, full of flowers and plants, and the rice field view is especially nice from the third floor rooms. The rooms are very spacious. It’s on a small side road with no traffic noise, though locals sometimes beep as they come to the nearby side street intersection. Nights are very quiet, with no club or traffic noise. The pool looks nice and is well maintained, though we’ve never swum in it because both visits were in January and too cold. The main drawback is the third-floor water pressure, which is weak, and getting a comfortable shower temperature can be tricky because it’s often too hot or too cold. At this price, what do you expect? We’d stay here every time we visit Hoi An.

The room was big enough for our family of four and comfortable to stay in. The reception area, though, was way too chaotic, and I wouldn't try breakfast here. The villa is close to Cam Chau market, where there are lots of cuisines, so you can ride over and try local food.

The rooms are beautifully furnished and finished better than most I’ve stayed in around SE Asia, with heavy doors and glass, thick curtains, and comfortable linens and duvets. It seems to have six main rooms for booking, and they refresh the water daily with daytime turnover service. They also accommodated my late checkout at 6pm for an extra 300,000 dong. The villa sits on a narrow paved road surrounded by rice paddies, where ducks, herons, and water buffalo spend the day cooling off. Free bicycles let you explore the paddies. It’s about a 10-minute ride to the edge of Hoi An central, with restaurants and coffee shops for anything you might want to eat. I found biking in the traffic easy, and the short ride was a nice way to get used to Hoi An. Add another 5-10 minutes to reach Old Town. This villa is stellar.

I really enjoyed my stay and will come back. The room was clean and spacious, the staff were super friendly and helpful, and the location was amazing. Best place to stay in Hoi An.
