The construction next door was painfully loud, with machinery starting at 7 a.m. The hallway had no ventilation either, and cigarette smoke from someone outside sometimes drifted into our room. There was no bathroom ventilator, so the odor after someone used it spread through the whole room. The room itself was dirty and badly run down. The light switches, outlets, phone, and TV didn’t work, and the table and cabinets were broken. The only usable socket was by the door, so we had to step around cords just to charge our phones. At 11 p.m., the water stopped while I was using the bathroom, and it still hadn’t come back. I didn’t want to leave a bad review, but this was too much to overlook.

The downtown location made it easy to explore the area, and I had a 10/10 stay at Lotus Rock. My room was spacious, clean, and nicely decorated, with a lovely view of Danang from the window. The bedding felt luxurious, and the minibar was well stocked. From the moment I arrived, the staff were warm and welcoming throughout my stay. The service was impeccable, and I can’t recommend Lotus Rock highly enough.

I found Lotus Rock Hotel very good value, with affordable rates and a convenient spot on what I’d call Da Nang’s main west-to-east road. It runs from the airport past plenty of restaurants and businesses, over Dragon bridge, and on toward the east of the city. Most landmarks and cultural attractions are easy to reach on foot. The airport is around a seven-minute drive away, or a 25-minute walk if you feel up to it. The staff were helpful and friendly, and the room had all the necessary facilities, including a small fridge freezer for keeping drinks cold. I also used the laundry service, which cost about 30,000 dong per kilogram. I’d highly recommend staying here.
