Maha Mangala Zen Garden & Residence

The private beach is beautiful, and the restaurant looks stunning with delicious food. Breakfast was awesome 💓. I also loved the one-bedroom apartment, which was actually nicer than the two-bedroom one. It’s a lovely place to stay, and I was especially glad there was no karaoke. Highly recommended!

I loved the thoughtful, creative vegetarian dishes at Maha Mangala. The flavors were rich and natural, and everything felt carefully prepared. The space has a distinctive design that makes it calm and comfortable, a real break from the noise of everyday life. I was lucky enough to join one of the bell meditation sessions they hold for special occasions. It was a memorable, unusual experience that left me feeling full of positive energy in both body and mind. Maha Mangala feels like a place to find peace and reconnect with yourself through the quiet atmosphere and food. I’ll definitely return to explore more of what it offers.

The food really impressed me, with well-balanced flavors in every dish and even the drinks. The staff are well trained in F&B and know how to arrange items and place them on the table. Their conduct also seemed in keeping with the restaurant’s Buddhist values. I have 20 years of hospitality experience with five-star service at Fairmont, Jumeirah & Four Seasons, so I noticed that attention to detail. Maha Mangala is a vegetarian restaurant that closely reflects Buddhist teachings. The name refers to a Sutra preached by lord Buddha to Ananda monk, after he was asked about good and bad signs in a day. At a time when people believed some things were good omens and others bad, lord Buddha gave 42 reasonings about what is good and bad according to Buddhist teachings. Before eating, they offer a blessing that thanks nature, the people who put food on the table, and nature again for allowing us to eat. You can take part if you want, but it isn’t required. The restaurant is very quiet, as it used to be a temple, and monks still preach there. For me, its atmosphere is unmatched for a quiet meal, and the place feels divine. The restaurant has been here for more than 10 years. My wife passed it on her way home from work every day but hadn’t known about it until today. We’re grateful to the gentleman who explained everything and prayed with us, and to the staff who spent time with us. We’ll come again on our next vacation.

We hadn’t heard of this place in the gated community. Our driver brought us to the zen coffee shop to relax until our next event, and it ended up being the most impactful place I’ve visited in Vietnam. The shop is quaint and peaceful, with lovely beach access. The atmosphere and sense of calm were incredible, and the food was the best we had in Da Nang. Everyone should experience it while visiting Da Nang!
