Phu Long Tam Ky Hotel & Restaurant

It’s about an hour from the city, but a really great hotel, especially for the price. I’ll be back before my visa expires!

The bell men seemed like highschool kids, with no proper training or uniform. I was there with my family for a Quang Nam trip, on the first floor. I don’t know how this is considered four stars quality when our room smelled really bad and wasn’t soundproof. There was a lot of noise from outside at night. I asked twice to change rooms and was told to wait. They took two hours to prepare another room, but by then I’d already fallen asleep.

The pool and grounds were lovely, and they offer spa services. Our room had a safe, dressing gowns, standard toiletries, a kettle, and a fridge. The TV had both free-to-air and paid options. The deluxe room was nicely appointed, spacious, and spotless, with lovely linen and bedding. It had the best bed I’ve slept in so far in Vietnam, firm but softened with a mattress topper. The doona was too thick and hot for me, though it might suit someone else. It was easy to take out of the cover, so I slept under the cover instead. The staff were helpful through an English translator app. The duty manager spoke English well and communicated clearly, and was very apologetic while sorting out a small breakfast mix-up since breakfast was included. There’s no buffet on Saturdays, you order from the menu. One difficulty for me as an older person was stepping in and out of the shower over the bath. The curtain was too short, so water got onto the floor and made it slippery.

The rooms felt fresh, with plenty of space and everything looking quite new. Staff were excellent, and the location worked well for me. I was very pleased with the hotel.
