Volar Hoi An

We had a very comfortable stay in the family quad share room, which had two single beds and a queen bed. The hosts were responsive and took care of what we needed. We booked our ride from our Danang hotel through Volar for 350k, which was cheaper than Grab. They left small bottled water for us daily, and the larger bottles cost 15k each, saving us a trip to buy water and carry it back. There was a toilet leak when we arrived, but it was fixed by the next day. We also got fresh towels every day even though we hung ours up to dry. Breakfast worked well for us: you preorder one menu item the day before, with fruit, bread, and pastries at the buffet. We liked not having a main course buffet that would make us overeat. It’s a 15-minute walk to old town. The route isn’t especially picturesque, but we came across restaurants we wouldn’t have seen by car and supermarkets for snacks. We liked that this was a quieter part of Hoi An. Two shops away, Golden Rose Massage gave us what we felt were the best massages we got in Vietnam. Tin Tin Restaurant, also two shops away, had delicious nem lui and garlic fried morning glory, and could accommodate my daughter’s food allergies. The one downside is there’s no lift, so we had to carry our luggage up. Luckily our room was on level 2.
