Catba Oasis Bungalows

The views are gorgeous, whether you're looking up at the mountains from the pool or watching the main drag from the balcony with a coffee. There's a great beach just up the hill too. The pool was lovely, and the rooms were nice and clean. Staff were very helpful and friendly. You really can't beat the price.

The main street location was handy but still peaceful, and the poolside area was nice. Laundry was reasonably priced and done well. The room, though, was in poor shape, damp-smelling, worn in the bathroom, and very badly cleaned. There was no proper room servicing; in the mornings they only brought small bottles of water, clean towels, and some toilet paper. We got one microfiber towel each, with no hand or face towels. Soundproofing was poor, so we could easily hear the neighbours. Most staff seemed unfriendly, and spoke little or no English. Breakfast was poor the first morning and barely passable on the days after. I'm sure you can get better value elsewhere.

The room was worth what we paid, though there are things to improve. The bathroom had no latch, so I couldn't close it from the outside, and the slippers were very hard.

Oasis Bungalows is, in my opinion, the cutest-looking place on that strip, with thatched buildings around the pool. The staff were very helpful, and it's an easy walk to the centre for restaurants, bars, tours, and shops. Breakfast was so-so, though the rooms were very damp and poorly maintained. The noise and view of the huge, awful development in what used to be the bay affect this hotel, as well as all the others. It's so awful.
