The breakfast choices were limited, though it helped that some dishes could be ordered. The hotel arranged our airport pickup, which was really useful. It’s in a great spot in Hanoi Old Quarter, and the staff were friendly and happy to help. They gave us good advice for the rest of our travels in Vietnam. Our first room’s cleanliness was questionable, and its ceiling began leaking on the first evening. We moved to another room the next morning, and that one was much better. The hotel is quite old, and the rooms show it.

The room stayed clean, the bed was comfortable, and the staff were super friendly. It’s a great location for getting out to do things, but my room was completely quiet. Breakfast surprised me with how good it was, with lots of options. I’d happily stay again.

The best part was the location, right in the middle of the old quarter. The room was fairly large, and the private bathroom was nearly as big. Breakfast was pretty good, with different typical Vietnamese food each day, so it seemed freshly made. When we returned from Sapa at 5 a.m., they let us rest, shower, and have breakfast for free. They’d also kept our bags while we were away. The staff were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to help. This hotel is amazing.

Being right in Hanoi’s French Quarter made it easy to get around, and the price was reasonable. The room felt cramped, with hardly any space for clothes, and the bathroom fan was noisy. The staff were lovely and went out of their way to arrange tours. Kevin in particular was amazing and helped us with everything. I’d recommend it if you want a central base.

The staff were the best part of our stay, helpful, polite, knowledgeable, and very good at English. After we checked out, I realized I’d left my phone in a taxi the hotel had booked. The staff helped me get in touch with the taxi company, and I had it back within an hour. We tried both a double room and a dorm. The double room was fine, though the paint and furnishings could use an update. Everything worked. The dorm was clean and tidy, but the bunks squeaked whenever someone moved, and the toilet flush was extremely loud. I’d definitely recommend 3B to anyone staying in Hanoi’s Old Quarter.
