Rue de L'amour Boutique Hotel

The hotel is right in Ha Noi's shopping street, and the famous train track is a convenient 20-30mins walk away. I like the interior, and the room was clean, though not spacious. Street noise comes through, and the glass bathroom window doesn't give unrelated roommates much privacy, even with the blinds.

The staff were lovely, the breakfast was top notch, and the rooms were great. The air-conditioning struggles at its maximum setting, though, and the bedding doesn't suit hot Hanoi weather, so you're left choosing between no cover and a hot duvet. Anyone with mobility issues should know the shower could be hard to get in and out of. Even as a healthy young man, I nearly slipped getting out of the high bath, which is awkward to enter and exit with nothing to hold. This seems strangely common in Vietnam, so keep it in mind if it may affect you.

We've stayed at Rue De L’amour twice during our Vietnam trip, which says plenty. The service stood out so much it deserves six stars. Rooms are roomy, clean, and have everything you need, while the atmosphere is beautiful. Some rooms face a wall instead of offering a view, but that didn't affect our stay too much. Breakfast has an extensive international selection.

The hotel is centrally located, which made it useful for getting around. Breakfast had plenty of choices, and the rooms were comfortable and spacious. We especially liked the bathroom products and their distinctive fragrances. The staff were helpful and flexible, and let us leave our luggage in the lobby even after we'd checked out the night before. We really appreciated that.
