The room was comfortable, with a good bed, fridge, and nice chairs and table. I like that cleaning is by request, since I usually don't need it and prefer people not to enter my room. Staff speak a little English, and the man and woman at reception helped carry my luggage up the stairs when I arrived just before 7 pm. The man also walked me to my room and checked the AC and hot water. That welcome was great, and I'd stay again if I'm back in Saigon. A few things could be better. Wi-Fi was mostly fine but sometimes stopped working, especially in the evening. There was dust on the bedside lamp, and the shower holder was broken, so I had to hold the shower head the whole time. I checked in shortly before 7 pm, and it seems there was time after the previous guest checked out to get a replacement from a plumbing shop. When I returned from dinner that evening, I smelled strong cigarette smoke near reception while waiting for the lift. Looking out, I saw the late-night receptionist smoking there. A big, dark-coloured dog sometimes sits on the stairs and makes it hard to get in. The flight of stairs would also be impossible for elderly or disabled guests, so the hotel can't accommodate them.

The worst part was the hygiene. The mattresses had visible mould, and I think it gave me a rash on my leg. There wasn't even toilet paper in the room. The facilities are old and noisy, and the taxi ride to the centre takes about an hour.

It was clean, and the room blocked most of the street noise. Service was good too. There was no hair dryer in the room, so you had to ask at the counter, and they only left one small packet of shower gel and shampoo. You may want to bring your own.

The rooms had "love chairs," but the amenities were lacking. The bathroom was dim, the fridge wasn't powered, and there were no drinks. The price felt high.
