Elios Hotel

The park right in front of the hotel was a nice break from the busy city, and the breakfast restaurant has a great view over it and the skyline. There’s lots of street food nearby, plus fast food and convenience stores downstairs, and a really good nail salon tucked away close by. Bui vien walking Street is near enough to reach easily but not so close that it gets noisy. The rooms were large and cheap, and the service was what I liked most. Staff downstairs lent us umbrellas when it rained, helped load our bags when the transfer vans arrived, and the cleaning staff were super friendly. I'd stay here again.

Breakfast stood out for the price: there was a surprisingly good choice of local Vietnamese food and Western options, and it stayed fresh and tasty during my stay. Elios Hotel is in a handy spot in District 1, with local food, cafes, markets, and attractions within walking distance. Taxis, Grab, and public buses were easy to use from there too. My room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. It wasn't luxurious, but it was more than enough since I spent most of my time out exploring Hồ Chí Minh City. For the location, service, and amenities, the hotel felt like good value without luxury prices. I'd recommend it, especially as a convenient base for a first visit.

Our triple room had fantastic views across the park and over the surrounding city. The rooftop bar was great, with cheap beers, and you could have breakfast up there too. Breakfast itself was ok, with a good fresh egg station. There was some street noise, but the worst of it came from inconsiderate neighbours, probably tour groups, coming and going at all hours and shouting to each other down the corridors. Great location.

The ongoing painting and maintenance work made it clear the hotel was poorly managed and overbooked. The receptionist was rude and dismissive, which added to an already stressful situation after travelling. We arrived at 1:00 PM, were told our room would be ready at 2:00 PM, and handed over our passports and booking details. After lunch, we returned on time but had to wait while other guests checked in. Then we were told only a windowless room was available, although we'd booked and confirmed a different room more than a month earlier. We looked at it anyway, but it was small, stuffy, and uncomfortable. When we objected, staff offered just a partial refund, leaving us to lose money over a problem caused by the hotel. They sent us to the booking platform and said the website details were wrong. We had a very disappointing experience and wouldn't recommend the hotel because of the poor management and lack of accountability.
