Kim’s studio was a great value, especially for someone like me who was backpacking and wanted a break from hostels. The room was clean and had what I needed. The neighborhood felt safe, with the studio on a small market street where you feel surrounded by locals. Staff were really friendly. Their English was limited, but they used Google Translate to help as much as they could.
The family running Kim's Studio made me feel welcome from the minute I arrived. I’d planned to stay five nights and move to another hotel, but before that was up I realized I didn’t want to stay anywhere else. There can be a language barrier, though their kindness, friendliness, and care more than made up for it. It’s a cozy little place in a great location. The rooms are lovely and have what you need, and there’s plenty just outside the door. Mornings bring a lively market with fresh produce, while the street settles down in the evenings. The restaurants and food stalls along it are all amazing, so you barely need to leave the area to try great food. I know where I’ll stay next time I’m in Saigon.
My partner and I spent two nights at Kim’s studio in September 2025, and we really enjoyed it. The family who own the guesthouse greeted us with big smiles, were friendly and happy to help, and made check-in quick and easy. We were in the basic double. It felt new, was very clean, and had everything we needed: a TV, fridge, kettle, wardrobe, fan, and air conditioning. The bathroom was small but clean and well equipped. The hot water pressure in the shower was practically nonexistent, so we could only get a cold shower. The shampoo did smell great, though. The location is great, with a fresh market in the alley and lots of restaurants and coffee shops just a stone’s throw away in district 3. District 1 and the sights are about a 20-minute walk, and there are plenty of buses nearby if walking isn’t an option. The price is very reasonable for what you get. We’d definitely recommend it and stay again on our next trip to Saigon.
The host was friendly and helpful, and the room was clean and smelled nice. She’d even set up a handy power socket with USB charging. One thing I especially liked was having so many food shops nearby.
I really enjoyed staying at kim’s studio. The room was clean and great value, and the family were very helpful and made me feel at home.
