Queen Ann Hotel

The location was good, but for a three-star hotel the room amenities were shockingly poor, more like a one-star place. There was nowhere to put our suitcases except the floor, and the room had only two coffee sachets with no milk. We each got one pillow; when we asked for another each, they said they could give us just one extra pillow total. There was a bedside table, light, and plug on only one side of the bed, and that was the only outlet in the whole room. The kettle station had nowhere to plug in the kettle, so the bathroom was the only option. The power went out overnight, and my phone hadn’t charged by morning. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

We were here with a group on an Intrepid tour. The location was great, the staff lovely, and breakfast was nice, but cleanliness needs work. There were lots of cockroaches in our room, and I woke to find one inside my sheets, crawling in my pajamas. It’s a noisy city, so as others have said, ask for a higher floor.

The staff were incredibly polite and efficient, and our room was spotless. The pool and spa were just as clean and very comfortable. It felt like a luxury hotel with all the expected features, and even the breakfast dining options were amazing.

We were on the 11th floor, and the room was great. Staff were friendly, and breakfast was more than enough. The coffee, though, was dreadful. The problem was the noise: loud music from a local bar kept thumping late into the night. At 1:30 on a Monday night it was still going, which was really annoying if you want to sleep early. I know that’s not the hotel’s fault.
