Sao Nam Hotel - Bui Vien Walking Street

Restaurants and convenience stores are all around, and the location is great. The room had little to no soundproofing, but I still had a pleasant stay.

I came intending to stay one night and ended up staying long term. For the price, I don’t think you’ll find better value. It was clean, had an elevator, and everything in my room worked. The water was hot, very hot 😂. The husband and wife who own the hotel were awesome: respectful and checking in every day to see if things were okay. The room’s soundproofing was phenomenal, especially considering the hotel is on the busiest street in the city center of Ho Chi Minh. There’s no curfew, so you can come and go whenever you like. It’s family-friendly, and they don’t allow sex workers in the hotel. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else down on Bui Vien. Some of the reviews I read either describe different owners or make up these issues. It’s a budget hotel, so expect a clean, safe room with air conditioning, a safe, a refrigerator, and a decent-sized bathroom and shower. You’re not getting a $50-$100 hotel room for about $15 night, but this place is awesome.

The rooms were clean, the staff were kind, and the location was great. A lovely place to stay.

9/23 park is right across the street, and street food vendors are just outside. The location works well for lots of things to do in HCMC. The owners were friendly and helpful, and the room had what we needed, including a good-sized bathroom. I’d definitely stay again.
