Shogun Hotel

I came back twice because the service was great. The rooms are cleaned, laundry is taken care of, and breakfast is served on a rooftop. I recommend it wholeheartedly. Anny deserves a special mention for being so helpful and kind. Give this girl a raise, she deserved it.

The location is great, with restaurants, cafes, a market, pharmacy and ATM nearby. Rooms are neat and clean, and the staff are welcoming, though breakfast could be better. Emily was especially warm and helpful. She pointed us toward important places to visit in the city and was very sweet.

The staff were friendly and helpful, but spoke very little English. The hotel is far from the center, and we cut our stay short. For the money, it wasn’t the best place. Room 801 was poorly finished. The window above the bed wouldn’t close, so noise disturbed us. There was no bathroom storage, and the badly sloped drain meant the bathroom flooded whenever we showered. After a torrential downpour, we came back to find the room flooded because the roof wasn’t watertight. They moved us to room 701, which was okay. The bathroom had no ventilation, and its light flickered every other time. Soundproofing with the neighboring room was poor, and there were few electrical outlets, with no clear use for some of them. Laundry was free, but you had to follow up yourself, and ours was delivered during the night while we were asleep. Breakfast had very little choice, and the rooftop dining area was cramped. We were misled by the good ratings and reviews on the website. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

The hotel restaurant serves delicious food, and the staff are friendly, enthusiastic and always ready to help. The service was attentive, and the rooms were luxurious and well equipped, exceeding my expectations. I also found the area around the hotel beautiful and peaceful, a lovely setting to relax. I’ll definitely come back if I get the chance and will happily recommend it to friends and family.
