The four of us paid 3.7 million for two nights, including the room, breakfast, dinner and a boat ride. Bill and Kit made us feel very welcome, and the food was fantastic. Bill cooks breakfast and dinner; lunch is available at the restaurant for an extra charge. Our room was simple but comfortable, with a good bed, a fan and a net to keep bugs away, and it was quiet. We also had a great time on the boat tour on our second day. It’s not a luxury stay, but the hospitality made it well worth it.

Kit took us out on a full-day boat trip, stopping at the cave, the waterfall, Fairy Lake, Confucious temple and a spot for a rock jump and swim. You can’t swim at the waterfall, but you can have lunch there. It was a brilliant day out, and the food at the homestay was excellent too. Bill and kit were so warm and friendly. The rooms were spacious, with large beds, fans and outlets. There’s no AC, just so you know, but the valley stays cool enough that we didn’t need it.

We had a lovely view over the lake from the terrace, and they arranged a nice tour around babe lake for us. The family were friendly, and breakfast and dinner were really good. The room and bathroom were what you’d expect from a homestay in this price range, with a soft bed and a warm shower.

On our northern loop motorbike trip, three friends and I were really glad we picked this place, even with so many other options nearby. They kept our bikes dry and safe, fed us incredibly well and gave us a wonderful day on ba be lake. Prices were very reasonable too. A 10/10 stay for us.

The food is fantastic, and there’s the option of taking a boat tour of ba be lake. It’s in a village close to the lake. The rooms are simple, with soft beds, mosquito nets and a good shower.
