Phu Quynh Hotel

This was my third visit, and I had another great stay. It's a budget hotel in the city center with good service and a clean, modern, new room. Towels, a toothbrush, soap, and other basic items were provided. I'd definitely recommend it to people traveling on a budget.

It's really close to the town center, and the air-conditioning worked perfectly. The room was cheap and fairly large, with no strange smells. The nice staff let us park our motorcycle on the premises for free. Bring your own toiletries and towels, though, as none are provided. There's no restaurant or lift, so expect to climb the stairs. We had a good experience.

We didn't have many options, so we ended up staying for a day. The price was affordable, around 270,000 VND per day for the big room shown in the photos, with three huge beds. Service was quite good: the receptionist was welcoming, attentive, and patient. Still, the room wasn't well furnished. The wardrobe seemed too small for a room of that size and the number of people it could hold. There were no toiletries in the bathroom, and the faucet looked corroded. It was actually faulty, with no water coming out. We tried calling reception using the number in the hotel's contact instructions, but the line was busy most of the time. That really annoyed me, since we had to go down four floors just to speak to the receptionist. There was no elevator or escalator, and carrying our luggage up to the fourth floor was frustrating. The room had several decorative items that seemed unnecessary given the lack of furniture and toiletries. I got the impression this place was more of a residence than a proper hotel.

The room was clean and modern, and a great price, but they lost our passports. We handed them over while checking in, which was a mistake. Learn from us and ask them to take a picture or make a copy. We spent almost three hours waiting while the owner checked the CCTV. The girl who checked us in insisted she'd returned them, but she hadn't. Luckily, a gentleman came to reception asking what was going on and said he'd got his passports back after checking in. He checked them, and they were ours. Call it dumb luck or fate, I don't know, but someone was definitely watching over us that day.
