There’s a lot of potential here, with a beautiful, naturally green setting and wooden furniture. The room and property look a little old, but it was clean enough given what they can clean. The woman at reception doesn’t speak English, though it’s easy enough to communicate using a translator. It isn’t quiet, because there’s a cement factory nearby.

We were checked in as soon as we arrived, and the bungalow was generally comfortable and very affordable, around $13 a night. It was fairly quiet, though there was noise from the nearby port and constant car honking. The location wasn’t ideal for the beach: the nearest decent one is a 20-minute drive away. There were lots of insects inside, though perhaps that’s normal with the vegetation around the property. I booked through Agoda and the owners didn’t reply for four days, which counts against them. One more thing: the room wasn’t cleaned very well, and there was mold and rats. The owners apparently haven’t fixed the cracks in the door, so the rats keep getting in.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was clean and had what we needed. The price was reasonable, and it’s near the ferry. A good place to stay overnight if you need to catch an early boat back to the mainland, toward Rach Gia or Ha Tien.
