HOI AN FOUR SEASONS VILLA

The location is great, and the front desk staff were friendly, though their recommendations sometimes sent us in the wrong direction. The room itself needs work: it felt dated, with scuff marks on the walls, a loose baseboard, faded artwork that looked decades old, black mold around the mini fridge, and a musty smell from the old wooden closet. See the photos for more detail. When we returned to the room, the electricity was off after we inserted our card, so we had to ask staff to restart it. The most serious issue happened at arrival: the helper opened the heavy door, then let go of it and it swung back toward my face. I reacted quickly, but otherwise I likely would have been hit and needed medical attention. That could have ruined the whole trip. This was completely unacceptable; guest safety needs to be the number one priority. I had an okay experience overall, but I changed my rating to one star because there was no reply or acknowledgment.

We booked the pickup from Danang Airport, which was very convenient, and the staff helped us arrange the memories show and a few other things. They also shared useful information about what to do. The swimming pool has a lovely view, and everything is a convenient 10-15 minutes away by bicycle. We had a very good time at this hotel.

It was nice being a little away from the crowds, though you'll need a scooter to get around Hoi An. From here, everything is about 5 to 15 minutes away. The staff were kind and friendly, which made the stay better than we'd expected.

Our children loved the pool, and the garden lights make it lovely at night. From the poolside you get a nice view over a big rice field. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and they made a tasty breakfast specially to our request. Drinks from the fridge were affordable, too. It's about a 20-minute walk to the old town of Hoi An, one of the most beautiful old towns we've seen in Asia. A lovely little hotel in private hands, and one we'd recommend if you're in the area.
