The room was old and felt half broken, which wasn’t what I expected from a 4* hotel. The drawers and shower were damaged, and the sink looked like it might fall soon. The water kept switching between hot and cold, so I had to keep adjusting it during a shower. We could also hear everything outside and in the rooms on our floor. Breakfast was poor, with little choice and low quality. My friend drank a yogurt because there was no spoon that fit, then noticed a little maggot or something moving in it. We showed the chef, who just gave a brief sorry and went back to the kitchen. A woman on staff seemed genuinely embarrassed when we showed her a photo, but didn’t offer anything, and no one mentioned it again at checkout. When we arrived by G8 transfer, it was difficult to unload our luggage on the sloping street without it rolling into the road. It took at least three minutes for one staff member to come help. We arrived at check-in time, so I expected the hotel to be ready to welcome guests. Some staff were nice, but others seemed not to care about clients.

We booked a junior suite, and the decor and atmosphere were just as they looked in the photos. The staff gave us tea and fruit while we waited for our cab, which was due to leave late at night. Breakfast was another highlight, with lots of fresh choices including omelettes, Pho, pancakes, and crepes, and the service was great. The staff treated us incredibly well and were the best we experienced during our stays in Vietnam. The hotel is also easy to reach on foot from the city centre and Sapa station. One tip: bring cash from Hanoi or another city you’re travelling from. Cash withdrawals or card payments anywhere in Sapa come with an extra 3% charge.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the location worked really well. We had an early start, and the host offered to put together breakfast to go in just two minutes. Everything was done with a smile, and the staff were incredible. 5/5

We got a very clean, roomy room with a fancy bathtub and a tiny balcony, and the staff let us check in early as soon as it was ready. The hotel is just a short walk from the sapa square and the fansipan ticket booth. They offer spa discount vouchers, though the spa staff weren’t accommodating.
