The rooms are a good size, clean, and excellent value for money. The family running the hostel are friendly and helpful. But other guests left the bathroom dirty, and it hadn't been cleaned for a while. There aren't many hooks or places to put toiletries and clothes either. Conversations from other rooms carry easily into a private room, which can make sleeping difficult.
The beds are okay, though you are sharing a room with quite a few other guests. The hostel itself is comfortable and very clean, and I liked the shoes-off rule because it helps keep the floors that way. One unpleasant thing did happen, though it wasn't really the hostel's fault: a roommate was audibly masturbating during the night.
A comfortable place to stay for very little money, and the dorm was immaculate. On colder nights, the radiators and electric heaters kept it really warm. The hostel is run by a very friendly host who takes good care of it. You’re just a short stroll from the main old town, on a quieter side street, with some good restaurants around the corner for an easy meal before bed.
The decor gives this hostel a cozy, mountain refuge kind of feel. One of the coziest places I’ve seen.
The location is the biggest draw, right near the main attractions, and the owner is very friendly and helpful. The hostel feels like a cozy home and is cleaned daily, so cleanliness wasn't an issue. The dorm beds are comfortable, with privacy curtains, lockers, and a thick blanket for my winter visit. My main concern was the limited sockets: some beds had none, so people often had to charge devices in the shared area. There are only two shared bathrooms for the whole hostel, and one is outside, which can be a bit inconvenient.
