Bergsig Self-Catering

It was comfortable and convenient for our family gathering, just as advertised. The dog next door started barking early in the morning. I also found the hot water dangerously hot and thought it could be turned down, and the shower drain was blocked. Apart from that, no complaints.

The place was neat and tidy, but I don't think it was worth R1000 for the night. We stayed just one night and had no drinking or shower water from before 6 in the morning. During loadshedding there were no candles, lamps, flashlights, or way to make a hot drink. There's only one very small fan to cool the whole apartment in summer. We had to leave the vehicle outside overnight because there was no secure parking. It was noisy at night too, with loud traffic, a barking dog, and sounds like people breaking down wooden doors.

The rooms were nice, but the host's attitude about payment was awful. Even though we'd already paid for one night, we were made to pay for both nights before getting the key. I understand some people may leave without paying, but I've never seen anyone demand payment like that.

During the storm, the windows seemed like they might get blown out. The property should replace them with double-glazed uPVC panels.
