Grange Gardens Hotel

Parking was a bit challenging, but the security guard helped us get parked. The parking is behind a locked gate with a guard there 24/7. The place was very clean and the staff friendly.

The beds felt dead or nearly dead, and I sank into mine while sleeping, though it was fun for me. The room was smaller than I’m used to, but pretty nice. I’d give cleanliness 80%, since some cupboards or wardrobes had stains. The night receptionist working till 28 December 2024 was very helpful in changing the breakfast menu to accommodate allergies (illnesses). Breakfast was simple, fresh and delicious, prepared after we sat down in the dining area. The rooftop pool area was ok, with a view of the stadiums. Smoking isn’t allowed in the hotel, so you can go up to the roof or ask security to let you out to smoke by the nearby fallen tree trunk. Thanks, Grange gardens, for a fun and wonderful experience.

The security staff and receptionist were really nice, and the hotel personnel treated us well. The rooms, though, were awful: they were unclean and stuffy, with dust from construction that was still going on, which we hadn't been told about. Since I have chronic sinus problems, we booked somewhere else. We had paid for three days but had to give them up and stay elsewhere. I regret booking here. The hygiene needs a lot of work, and even the deluxe beds were worse. Breakfast was disappointing too. ☹️

Coming from JHB, I expected a better holiday, but rude management and security spoiled it. The advertised rate was lower than what they demanded after I booked, and the agreed stay didn't match what was actually expected. The service and management are poor for a hotel. I regret choosing this place and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
