La Residence

We had a wonderful time last night celebrating my husband's birthday. Everyone made us feel special, and Mario's service was outstanding. They even drove down the road to fetch a Guinness for a guest who mentioned she hadn't tried one. That really blew us away. Well done to everyone 👏

The rooms at La Résidence were beautifully put together, spotless, and comfortable, with so much care in the details. The peaceful Franschhoek setting was lovely too, with gorgeous scenery and easy access to everything. Most of all, the team made our anniversary feel special with thoughtful touches we’ll remember for a long time. From arrival onward, everyone was warm, kind, and attentive. A perfect 10/10 stay, and we’d happily return.

We stopped in for wine, tea, and a few nibbles on our last evening in South Africa’s wine region. The place was quiet and peaceful, with absolutely stunning views. We’d love to come back for afternoon tea. Thank you so much 🙏🏼

The sweet and savory vegan and lactose-free options were a real highlight. The kitchen had put so much thought and care into them, which you don’t often see. The property itself is breathtaking, but the service fell short of the five-star standard we expected. The first two women in our group were greeted with towels and drinks, but nobody was at the door for the rest of us. We sat down ourselves and had to ask for our welcome drinks. Keenan, our first waiter, was lovely, though things slipped after the shift change. We felt forgotten, had to seek someone out for basic service, and eventually called a waiter over to deal with the dying fire. It’s a beautiful place, but the staff weren’t proactive.
