The bed was comfortable and the linen clean, and the hostess was very friendly and welcoming. The place is old and rustic, which is fine, but it lacks basics: there isn't a spare power point for charging a phone, so you have to unplug the kettle. They use borehole water, which I applaud, though the bathroom water smells like rotten eggs when you run it.

We stayed for two days, 26-27 Dec' 23. Amanda was an absolute darling, and the home was clean and comfy. There were water problems in the area, and the smelly borehole water from the taps was impossible to use. Bring fresh water, and be ready to splash with a cat in the basin. There's no microwave, sink, or kitchen at all, and bring your own iron too. We made the best of it, though, and nothing spoiled our fun 😉

We were very disappointed with our booking. The family room, which is what the unit is called, has no fridge or proper kitchen facilities, so read the fine print. We have medication that needs refrigeration, and now I have to buy ice to keep it cool for the evening. This is the first accommodation I've come across without a fridge, especially at R922 per night for two people.

Make sure you get the price in writing, or you could feel ripped off. We called about an overnight rest and were quoted a price, then arrived late and were shown where to sleep. In the morning at checkout, we were told a different amount. I believe the owner did this intentionally, since I had no proof of what she'd said. After using the place for the night, I didn't have the energy to argue, but I would never have paid R1750 for my family to stay there one night.
